Gears of War is one of my fondest memories of the Xbox360. I remember having a friend over and playing non-stop all weekend to beat it on every difficulty and get every CoG (without cheating. Except the last one. >_>). And now that a new gameplay video for it’s sequel, Gears of War 2, has been released I believe it’s time to start hoping.
The end of Gears of War was, if I may, disappointing. You’re in the heat of battle, fighting General Raam and then it ends with a cheesy helicopter rescue. It left me, as well as my friend, feeling empty. Many parts of the original GoW left us feeling that way. The Brumak was one of those moments (We’re not talking about the PC version). This epic beast that could destroy you with the blink of an eye and you don’t even get to attempt fighting it. Well, in the new gameplay trailer it looks like you won’t only be able to fight th Brumak but you’ll also have to deal with dozens, if not hundreds of Locust at the same time.
And from the looks of things there’s going to be a greater variation of Locust. Airbased, ground, giant. In the original each of these showed up one at a time. You’d fight ground soldiers, then later the airbased ones would show up to fight. But now it’s all happening at the same time. Hopefully EPIC will expand to have more new types of Locust as well. No matter how good the game is you just can’t fight the same four variations two games in a row.
What about story? It’s far too early to tell if EPIC is telling the truth about a far better script but here’s hoping that all things GoW2 are worth waiting for.

A better script? Did you actually LISTEN to CliffyB? I mean, I skipped most of it after listening for ten seconds. It was so sad.
I don’t really care. MGS > GoW and we all know it.

I’m going to ask you to A) stop reading my posts; or B) don’t comment on my posts. I’m tired of your negativity toward everything I write about/do. It’s gotten to a point where you’re really damaging my point of view of you. Or, the illusive C) stop being a jerk.

Maybe Epic will steal some more levels from the fans and put them in >_>
I kid, I kid, if I had a 360, I would buy it

The Locust, for a race that’s lived underground, they seem to have adapted very well to the surface.
Played the PC version. Never actualy got to finish it, my video card couldn’t take it.
But yea, the chainsaw was pretty fun to use.
